Text Box: The manor is a large self-catering holiday residence, well suited to families and groups of friends. So why sports clubs, and Martial Arts clubs in particular? The owner, Jeremy Gardner, has been involved in martial arts since 1974, when “Enter the Dragon” first showed in UK cinemas.. Jeremy kept his interest over the years, despite distractions of school, work, women and booze, and still trains today.

The idea behind Herqueville is to enable clubs to get more out of their time together. Instead of just meeting for training a couple of times per week, a trip like this can break down barriers, build friendship and really bring people together on the same wavelength In addition, the instructor has an opportunity to generate a higher level of excitement and enthusiasm within the club.

If you have ever had the task of organising a club trip, to include training time and entertainment, you will know how difficult it can be. Good training venues are often in uninteresting places with poor accommodation, and good holiday destinations often have no decent training facilities.

Text Box: Herqueville on the other hand is a great location, with large areas of lawn and a tennis court as training surfaces. It is easy to get to from the UK and everyone knows how good the French food and wine can be. Being in the country you can shout as loud as you want and nobody cares, but with Louviers, Rouen and Paris all relatively close you can get a fix of city life if you need it. You don’t need to do martial arts to visit Herqueville, you can just enjoy being there.

Text Box: What if it rains?

It may be a good time to visit Paris, Rouen, the local bars or brasseries. Maybe training in bad weather is character building, but there are other options. There are two halls nearby, one that can be used for training in Andé just 2KM from the manor, and one that is just for social functions (parties etc) about 10 minutes walk away in Herqueville itself. The hall at Andé is a good size and could handle 60 people training. A bar is 2 minutes walk from the hall.
